Volunteer Hours

The Chapter recognizes that without the hard work and dedications of its membership, family and friends, the organization would not be as successful as it is today.
Four hours of volunteer service are required for each horse/rider combination to be eligible for CDS Pomona Chapter Year End Awards. These hours can be obtained by donating time to staff horse shows, being an elected member of the Board, being appointed to one of the numerous committees, or by providing $100.00 cash donation to the Chapter. Hours can only be donated to a rider by an immediate family member or the owner of the horse that is being ridden.

How to Sign Up to Volunteer

Before each show we are now using SignUp Genius to have people volunteer for positions during the show. A SignUp Genius link will be included on the show information page.

Show Volunteer Opportunities

Our show season is off and running, and we’re counting on you to help make it a success! We’re looking for show-day volunteers to help keep everything running smoothly — and we have opportunities for every schedule and skill level.

Show Volunteer roles include:
  • Set-up and tear-down (these hours count double!)
  • Scribing
  • Scoring
  • Awards table
  • Test runners (taking completed tests to the office)
  • Ring stewards
  • Assisting the show secretary with entries and check-in

No amount of time is too small — every helping hand makes a difference! Plus, volunteering is a great way to catch up with friends, support our members, and earn credit toward our volunteer incentive program and year-end awards.
